The spring thaw is here and we are ready for it. The spring rains will bring the course back to life so everyone can enjoy it.
From the President:
Well, believe it or not but it is getting closer to spring and golfing weather. The club has purchased Bag Tags for each member to assist in identifying members and green fee payers. There are several members that have not picked up their bag tags. Bag tags are in the Pro Shop for pick up. As we all know, due to the layout of our course and the location of our Pro Shop, it is very easy for someone to enter our course without paying a green fee.
Think about these numbers:
1 walk on per day = $20.00
1walk on per day for a week=$140.00
1 walk on per day for a year=$7,300.00
This is very costly for us. WOW!!! Could our club use this money?
It has been reported that members have actually brought people on the golf course without paying or giving them their bag tags to enjoy a free round of golf. All of the club members need to understand that these walk-ons are stealing from our club. Needless to say, that a member found doing something like this could suffer serious consequences to include LOSS of membership. Our club has not had much success getting Rangers for the course. All members need to be Rangers for our course. Any misuse of violations that are observed need to be reported to the Pro Shop so the Board of Directors can address these issues.
Ladies Golf Association: The Ladies Golf Association will have their monthly meeting on April 1, 2008. This meeting will start at 8:00 a.m. at the clubhouse. Our first golf tournament, The Spring Kick-Off will be on April 15th. The sign up sheet is in the ladies lounge and the deadline is April 13th. There will not be an entry fee for this tournament. You must be a paid up member of the Ladies Golf Association to play in ladies day events.
New Membership: At the present time we are accepting new memberships. If you know anyone who would be interested in becoming a member of the club, ask them to see Nancy in the Pro Shop for an application.
Delinquent Account: If your membership fees are past due, you lose all privileges at the club.
Golf Course: The aerification of the greens was completed on March 24th and 25th.
Tournaments:
- The Men’s Association will start play on April 1st at 5:00 p.m.
- The Friday Night Couples will began April 4th at 5:00 p.m.
- The Exceptional School Tournament will be Saturday , April 19th. (The course will be closed).
